Senior Production Engineer - VR/30457

Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It’s a contract position that has been approved for 6 months, however it’s covering an employee secondment so it could end up being shorter or longer. The company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

    

Working within the Subsurface Team, the Senior Production Engineer will be responsible for providing work and guidance across the company’s portfolio of operated and non-operated assets. 

         

Reporting to the Subsurface Manager, the Senior Production Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring asset production performance on a daily basis; monitor production and injection losses to support root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for allocation and production reporting of major developments.
  • Identifying, evaluating and proposing innovative production engineering strategies to enhance and safeguard well performance and design.
  • Where permitted, contributing to all well activities relating to the design, performance and intervention of production and injection wells.
  • Seeking to influence the maximising of production by optimising production and injection well stock.
  • Providing technical direction to junior Engineers.
  • Communicating effectively with Operations, reservoir engineers, Drilling and Completions Engineers, Facilities Engineers, and the wider Production Engineering Team.

         

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is essential.
  • An MSc degree in petroleum engineering would be preferred.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea upstream oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Direct Operator experience would be preferred.
