Process Safety Technical Authority - VR/29965
Currently recruiting for an experienced Process Safety Technical Authority for a global leader in floating productions solutions (FPSOs). It is a permanent staff position based out of the company’s Aberdeen office.
It’s a global TA role where you’ll support the full fleet of vessels as part of the Corporate Team.
As the Technical Authority – Process Safety, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Owner of Technical Standards, which defines the minimum requirements for new and operating assets.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring and expert advice to the wider organisation, where required.
- Verifying activities to ensure compliance with technical standards, design performance standards and operational performance standards.
- Facilitating technical lessons learnt through the Lessons Learnt Database, which will lead to the continuous improvement of Technical Standards and other engineering documents, methods and tools.
- Verifying engineering methods and tools.
- Applying knowledge of industry rules, standards and guidance related to process safety, such as: ABS, DNV, API, IOGP, Energy Institute, ISO, IChemE / AIChE, Step Change in Safety, etc.
- In addition to process safety, the Technical Authority shall also be the focal point for interaction with accommodation and HVAC. Be familiar with the safety critical functions and performance requirements of accommodation and HVAC systems in the context of managing the risks of major accident hazards.
- Collaborating with Projects and Asset Operations in developing / reviewing Safety Cases and managing Safety Critical Elements.
- Collaborating with Asset Operations in defining, reporting and analysing process safety indicators.
- Participating in incident investigations.
Education And Experience
- A degree qualification in Safety and Reliability Engineering or Chemical Engineering is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar Process / Technical Safety Technical Authority type role, directly within the North Sea Oil & Gas industry, is essential.
- Experience with process safety engineering and design is required.
- Experience with Safety Case Studies is essential.
- Experience with the full project lifecycle, including both design and operations, is essential.
- Experience with accommodation and HVAC would be preferred.
- Knowledge of functional safety and Human Factors would be preferred.
- Experience with BowTieXP, Synergi Life and Barrier Management solutions (e.g., Enablon, Sphera, RiskPoynt) would be preferred.
