A leading name in the offshore energy and renewables sector is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its UK Finance Team and play a vital role in driving financial performance within the UK. Working closely with the General Manager and Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of monthly financial statements, cashflow forecasting, internal controls, and performance reporting. You’ll also oversee statutory compliance, VAT and tax submissions, and the financial stewardship of a rental asset fleet.

      

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the UK Finance Team, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting within group deadlines.
  • Delivering detailed variance analysis, investigating and explaining actual vs budget vs forecast outcomes.
  • Producing rolling 10-week cashflow forecasts and support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Driving compliance with internal controls and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT and tax.
  • Liaising with Auditors, Advisors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient audit and reporting cycles.
  • Acting as a Business Partner to the General Manager, providing financial guidance on key decisions.
  • Mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.

      

Experience required:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Consideration will be given to experienced individuals.
  • Experience working for an International Group.
  • Strong knowledge of global financial reporting standards and internal control environments.
  • Exceptional Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems and ERP software.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to train and mentor staff at various levels.
  • A detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
