Staff opportunity available with leading upstream business in the UK North Sea. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner Team Lead, the Finance Business Partner will be responsible for financial planning and analysis support for an operated asset.

    

Your responsibilities will include budget preparation and approval, cost forecasting, partner billings, life of field analysis, and the preparation of PAFs/AFEs. Additionally, you will serve as the finance business partner for the asset, offering valuable financial advice and challenge to deliver value and manage costs effectively.

      

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering timely and accurate financial information to key stakeholders to allow for informed decision-making. Using a forward-focused approach, utilising historical trends to inform forecasts, budgets, and strategic planning.
  • Providing support and critical analysis to key customers on ad-hoc questions/queries to support the business’s drive to understand and manage value.
  • Overseeing co-venturer relationships, ensuring company meets information obligations under Joint Operating Agreements. Representing the organisation at Finance Committee meetings, regularly attending Operating Committee meetings, and acting as a focal point for partner financial queries, including chairing Financial Committee meetings and producing monthly partner reports.
  • Collaborating with other Finance Teams to ensure ledgers, reports and billings accurately reflect asset operations, adhering to joint operating agreements and are in line with SOAP guidance.
  • Focal point for joint venture auditors.
  • Preparing current year gross and net Opex, Capex and Abex (when required) outlook reporting for the asset.
  • Preparing and presenting the financial results of the asset at the monthly asset stewardship meeting.

         

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accounting with experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in Joint Venture and Operations accounting (including knowledge of Joint Operating Agreements and a solid understanding of SOAP guidance).
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure, deliver timely results, and thrive in a fast-paced environment without compromising integrity.
  • Able to perform a critical review of financial information and have excellent systems skills – SAP BI and reporting experience is critical to enable effective analysis of asset performance.
